Dr. Erin Macdonald is an astrophysicist, and aerospace engineer, and the host of the YouTube series “Dr. Erin Explains the Universe“. This was a great discussion about how to balance science fact with the needs of fiction, as well as how writing for science has changed as we’ve advanced our scientific knowledge.

HTP Episode 012 – Lee Sargent (Lee Draws Stuff)
Lee Sargent is a popular artist, known for his childlike interpretations of scenes from Star Trek, Dr. Who, and Stargate. Lee feels passionately about letting people enjoy stories on their own terms, that stories are about escapism and creativity. What I love about this chat is that we get to discuss the balance between an artist’s original intention and the audience’s vision. We also get to talk about Australia’s wildlife and doing cons outside the US, with such awesome events as Oz Comic Con and Supanova in his backyard.

HTP Episode 010 – Madison Spencer Engle
Madison Spencer Engle is a favorite in the Star Trek Cosplay community. Not only is she one of the most popular “Beverly Crushers” on the convention floor, but she’s very active on social media giving advice and helping fellow cosplay fans get the recognition they deserve. Madison actually took her love of costuming into the industry, having spent years as a costumer for Star Trek: Voyager, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Austin Powers. She frequently does her cosplay to benefit such causes as Hope’s Kids and Walk for the Blind
